The Wild Council
A collective where students come together to bring their ideas to life in collaboration with the rest of the team.
The Wild Council is where community-serving projects are built and executed. Last year, the small group of students (~6) in collaboration with some others developed two wild study nights, a Valentine’s Day event, an April Fools event, and managed several course-based chats throughout the year. Our goal is to expand and improve the Wild Council by building it into an open committee of passionate builders, so we can extend its reach as far as possible.
If you are considering getting into leadership and connecting with fellow OHSers, you should think about joining the Wild Council! You could lead a part of the blog, advertise an HSC discussion event, or bring a big box of virtual chocolate (much appreciated)!
Some projects planned to be developed this year, extending from the Wild Nights of the last:
Seed Sessions Academic learning sessions that will include study buddies, summer program sharing, and schoolwork tips! Planned to happen once/twice a month (depending on if it is finals season) and helping you plant your seed!
Active Pixels Interactive sessions where OHSers can present the initiatives/projects they are working on as well as find people to collaborate on new projects with. Designed to help you become inspired and connect! These sessions will also occur monthly although on occasion we will have game nights and holiday themed meetings!
The Dandelion Archive A blog designed to have short videos/posts in instagram format on study tips, exam prep, the best programs to go into for concentrations you are interested in! Anyone can post a useful tip but the Wild Council will help out in updating and editing the page!
Anything you can come up with! We are always open to even some of the craziest and out of this world ideas (ha, puns) you may have, so come join us at the Wild Council!
The Wild Tour
A series of meetups, essentially in-person tours and activities, to kickstart local communities.
Not everyone can go to pixelfest or PGGW in California, and many OHSers are simply too far for it to be reasonable to travel. We think it’s time we go TO the students rather than ask them to come to us.
This year, in collaboration with many OHS parents, we plan to host three or four in-person events across the United States under the mission to unite OHS communities that have otherwise not been introduced to each other. Students can connect in person, and parents can be persuaded to stop calling us each other’s ‘internet friends!’ The first of these Wild Tours is planned to take place near Dallas, TX.
Something we can’t do in a Wild Night (the previous OHS online events) that we’ve ALWAYS wanted to do is a chocolate tasting event, with actual cacao and a tour of how it’s made. Some other activities we plan to incorporate (beside ones that involve chocolate):
- Board games
- Tours of factories and research labs
- Picnics
- ICE CREAM MAKING
- Treasure hunts
- Building competitions
This concept is one of the more ambitious projects here, but could have the strongest effects on local communities than anything else we run.
Pixels Across Borders
An initiative to recruit a student from Rwanda to join OHS.
Along with connecting each other, we hope to connect others to the flourishing community of Stanford OHS. Pixels Across Borders is a concept aimed at funding and recruiting a student from Rwanda for single-course enrollment at our school. The project would be in collaboration with OHS leadership and Isomo (an education group in Rwanda), and could be a brilliant opportunity for the chosen student. Once the concept has been proven with one course, it may turn into an initiative that lives on after we graduate.

HEY there! I’m Greyson, and I’m obsessed with photography, computer science, philosophy, and chocolate. Unfortunately, I didn’t host a chocolate-tasting event last year as class president, but instead focused on two MSB Wild Study Nights, a Valentine’s Day event, and an April Fools game night. Outside of school I run an international Minecraft server called HSREALM, a community of high schoolers based around the world. My goal this year is to connect and inspire as many pixels as possible, and make the year the wildest one yet.

Hi! Hi! Hello! My name is Marie and I am, sadly, not French but excited to be a potential part of your year! During my time leading a few societies in OHS, and volunteering as a teacher assistant outside of OHS, connection and curiosity have always been central drivers for me — as I hope they will be for you!
Apart from eating a dandelion once, I find them to be one of the prettiest yet simplest flowers which is how most good ideas begin, and eventually grow into a field of dandelions! I would like to be a comrade of yours on this mission of expanding your idea into a real successful project and growing your field!
