Leadership

Principles, a founding constitution, and the energy to build community

Core Principles

  • Inspirational - leadership shouldn't just act, it inspires others to take part
  • Communal - a class where every student is respected, involved, and valued
  • Foundational - our goals and decisions should set us up for the future of co29

These principles will guide our process. If you have any questions or suggestions, let me know!

Wild Nights

A community night held three times a month. Each one is different: discussion meetings, event planning, voting sessions, game nights, or short workshops to co-author our constitution. Show up to relax, meet people, and help shape our year.

These nights are malleable - anyone can reach out beforehand and lead it in their own direction.

Here's some more info:

  • Discussion Meetings - sometimes a new topic or question will arise based on our Constution or other projects. Wild Nights will be opportunites to cover them.
  • Event Planning - these meetings can also be good places to plan other events, like an in-person Capital tour in DC for HoCo or a graduation party
  • Watch Parties - from MSB lecture watch parties to actual films/plays, like Hadestown.

Constitution of co29

The Constitution will be a student-written foundation for how our class operates - setting down our values, culture, representation, and any structure we want to be associated with as a class. It isn’t about rules for the sake of rules, it’s about giving our class stability, fairness, and traditions that can last all four years.

This constitution will be shaped collectively, mostly during Wild Nights. Every Freshman voice matters, and everyone who wishes to be involved will have the chance.
